offer a positive, nurturing, and loving teaching environment to create confident,
successful, and respectful young people who enjoy dance as a part of full lives.
At
some dance studios, students are urged to commit their entire lives to dance.
We know that the lives of our students are enriched by many different activities
and that our studio is not all-consuming in a student’s life. We hope to
instill in each of our students a love and passion for the fun and beauty of dance;
to develop well-rounded students who hold dear, throughout their lives, wonderful
memories of years spent “taking dance.” Most of our senior students
have been with us for many years, and we think this reflects our success.
We are pleased to be able to accommodate the student who wants to pursue
a professional career in dance or the student who wants to dance for sheer enjoyment.
We are proud of our students who have taken dance into their professional lives
such as one former student who has her own studio in Atlanta and another who works
with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company through Fordham University. Still another was
dance coach (and Spanish teacher) in a local high school and is now teaching dance
in a Virginia studio.
We are equally proud of the many wonderful young
men and women who have gone on to pursue other careers as intelligent, talented,
respectable ladies and gentlemen. Several have become teachers in the Hillsborough
County school system and across the USA. We believe the positive influence of
our teachers in those young lives will continue to make a difference for future
generations just as it has for our former students who are now parents sending
their children to dance at Atelier of Dance.
